The goal of the Planet Longhorn website was to build an online home for UT-Austin's international student community. The site needed to embody inclusivity, showcase cultural diversity, and offer a warm welcome to newcomers through thoughtful design and storytelling.
I led the entire design and development process, from defining the visual identity to shipping a responsive website. I focused on translating community values into design choices and creating a scalable system that future team members could build on.
Explore events like flipping through a magazine—fluid, visual, and welcoming.
As the largest international student org at UT Austin, Planet Longhorn needed a brand that felt welcoming and familiar across cultures.
The wireframes were inspired by the immersive feel of a magazine—bold photography, clean layouts, and emphasis on community storytelling.
The final design brings the brand to life through microinteractions, personal quotes, and hierarchy. The experience feels personal, like you’re being invited in.
This project improved my proficiency with the Next.js framework and honed my skills in creative interaction and design. It also broadened my experience in translating the inclusive, kind, and passionate ethos of the Planet Longhorn team into a compelling and visually engaging online presence.
Collaborating with the Planet Longhorn team to build their events and gallery pages, which will document their events and meetings. We are also incorporating a Content Management System (CMS) to enable team officers to update the website easily.
